Pride Chorus Houston invites you to Make Your Own Kind of Music, a Pride Month concert about doing things your way, taking a few chances, and maybe being just a little bit bold. This show is all about showing up as yourself, singing it loud, and enjoying the freedom that comes with it. Along the way, we’ll hit on the moments that push us forward: the ones where we choose courage over comfort, try something new, or finally decide not to play it safe.
Make Your Own Kind of Music blends familiar favorites with fresh sounds, featuring songs like Follow Your Arrow by Kacey Musgraves, the classic Make Your Own Kind of Music by Cass Elliot, along with music from Kinky Boots and even K-Pop Demon Hunters with a few surprises along the way. Whether you’re here for the message, the music, or just a fun night out, you’ll leave with something to hum—and maybe a little inspiration to make your own kind of music, too.
Marielle Kraft
Marielle Kraft writes the kind of indie pop that feels like a late-night FaceTime with your best friend — honest, infectious, and deeply relatable. A self-taught singer/songwriter now based in Nashville, Kraft has built a reputation for transforming personal moments into striking, universally resonant songs. Her confessional writing style — often likened to that of Taylor Swift and Maggie Rogers — has earned her prominent placements on Spotify and Apple Music editorial playlists, along with critical acclaim for her authenticity and lyrical clarity.
Since leaving behind a career as a full-time English teacher to pursue music, Kraft has released three EPs and a series of viral singles, including “10x Better,” “Good Days,” and “Good Grief.” Her 2023 concept project, the GOOD EP, marked a pivotal moment in her artistry, garnering praise for its emotional depth and sonic warmth, and propelling her on a sold-out headlining tour across the U.S.
